Heavy Machinery Accidents

There are a lot of different lines of work that involve the use of heavy machinery. Most notably, people think of construction workers or factory workers. However, these are not the only two occupations that are constantly around heavy machinery. With all of these people using these machines, however, it becomes more and more likely that someone will get hurt. This, unfortunately, is very much the truth.

Heavy machinery, unfortunately, malfunctions or breaks down all the time. This can lead to very serious injuries. There are many different types of heavy machinery, which means that the type of injury can vary widely. However, most of them have one thing in common. If the injury is severe enough, it could potentially kill whoever was involved in the accident.

Short of death, most heavy machinery can cause serious injuries, such as:

  • Lacerations
  • Fractures
  • Loss of limbs
  • Burns
  • Paralysis
  • Concussions
  • Internal bleeding
  • Internal injury

While not all of these injuries will occur with every piece of machinery or in every accident, at least one of them will generally afflict the victim or victims.

The degree of injury can, of course, range greatly. While there are people who die from these accidents, there are also people who escape with only a few scratches. These, however, are the lucky few. For the most part, heavy machinery accidents will cause severe injury.
