Ford has announced a massive recall of 470,000 Mustangs in order to re-calibrate the force with which the airbags deploy. This recall is for Mustangs with model years of 2005 through 2008. The airbag in question is the front passenger side airbag. Although there have not been injuries reported due to the deployment force of the airbag, internal tests conducted by Ford have shown that the airbag can injure an unbelted, small passenger when it deploys. The recall was posted on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) website. In Februray, Ford also recalled a large number of Ford Expeditions, Lincoln Navigators, and a number of large vans due to various problems. Evenflo has recalled a number of their baby car seats due to concerns that the top portion of the seat will separate from the base in high-speed crashes. To help to combat the feats of the seat separating from its base, Evenflo is providing dual-hook fasteners to consumers. The affected models are 390,391, 534, and 552. All manufactured between April 2005 and Jan. 29th, 2008. 24,000 Indonesian-made baby cribs have been recalled because of safety concerns. The concern is that children will be able to fall out of the cribs because the mattress doesn't lower all the way. This allows the baby to be higher in the crib and giving them the chance to fall out. So far no injuries have been reported due to the crib railings but that does not mean they should be used and sold still. The cribs were sold between November 2005 and November 2007 in various baby specialty stores. The Consumer Product Safety Commission expressed concern over what parents are placing in their cribs. 241 children under 5 died in accidents relating to items in their cribs. Soft bedding was the leading factor.
