Boating Accidents Caused by Alcohol on the Decline

Posted on Tuesday, July 14th, 2009 at 8:40 am

A ten year study has shown that boating accidents that involve alcohol are on the decline. Over the last decade, 193 people have died in 1,311 boating accidents across the state.

Four years in the study showed alcohol as a factor in 85% of boating accidents. Last year, however, only 40% of boating accidents involved alcohol as a factor. While this is certainly a good thing, accidents are still occurring.
