Earlier this month, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Ariens Company issued a voluntary recall on SnoThro 30LE Deluxe Snow Throwers for containing defects that could possibly lead to injuries in consumers. The recall was issued on January 11th and includes approximately 1,040 snow throwers.
Ariens Company, based in Wisconsin, noted that they had not yet received any reports from owners of the affected snow throwers of accidents of injuries. However, company executives and officials with the CPSC worry that consumers could be injured when trying to clear the product's discharge chute while the machine is running.
The recalled product was previously sold by Ariens-approved retailers and Home Depot from October 2009 to January 2010.
