Last month, two Wisconsin residents, Robert L. Eigner and Elaine Eigner, were killed in a tragic plane crash. The two were flying a Cessna 150 and took off from the Lake in the Hills Airport. Sauk County Sheriff's Department officials say that the plane crashed in Honey Creek, Wisconsin near Baraboo at around 6:30 P.M.
Officials from the Federal Aviation Administration say that the plane was destined for Reedsberg, about 15 miles northwest of where it crashed. Eigner were using visually flight rules and had not been in contact with area traffic controls.
Reports of a loud noise were called in to the Sauk County Communication Center and rescue crews were sent out to search for the aircraft. Crews were not able to located the site of the crash until around 10:30 P.M. Both Robert and Elaine Eigner were pronounced dead at the scene of the plane accident.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims' family and friends after this tragic accident.
