Teen awarded $499,000 for injuries suffered in car accident

Posted under Uncategorized

A Wisconsin judge recently awarded a 17-year old boy from Prescott $499,000 as compensation for the serious injuries he suffered in a car accident 2 years ago.  According to the car accident lawsuit, the medical expenses related to the boy's injuries were over $500,000.

The accident occurred on October 24, 2009 at around 11:30 a.m in Pierce County when a vehicle drove through a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 10 and CTH QQ.  The vehicle that the teen was riding in was hit by the vehicle that ran the stop sign.  The teen suffered unspecified, serious injuries.

The settlement between the parties involved in the lawsuit was reported to be a partial settlement.  The 17-year old's lawyers will attempt to recover about $500,000 of additional liability coverage due to evidence that excessive speed and failure to look out contributed to the seriousness of the car accident.
