This weekend, one person was injured in a car accident caused by a wrong-way driver. The accident occurred near Hammond, Wisconsin on Interstate 94 at around 2:10 a.m. on Saturday morning. According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old man was traveling eastbound in the highway’s westbound lanes. The driver crashed his car into a vehicle traveling westbound. The driver of the vehicle that was hit, a 41-year-old Bloomington man, was injured in the accident.
The victim was taken to the hospital with unspecified, non-life-threatening injuries. The wrong-way driver continued driving after the collision, and did not stop until his vehicle’s tires were deflated by police. He has been charged with reckless driving, driving without a license, leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, fleeing the police, wrong-way driving, and endangering safety.
