Newborn found alive in hospital morgue

Posted under Green Bay medical malpractice attorneys

A newborn baby born in Argentina was found alive in the hospital morgue just hours after medical staff had declared her stillborn. The parents went down to see their daughter one last time when they say they heard a little cry after opening the casket.

She was immediately taken to the neonatal intensive care unit in critical condition, but her parents say she is improving. The newborn was born three months early but has not needed oxygen or other support preemies usually need.

Five doctors have been suspended pending an official investigation. The family has stated they plan filing a medical malpractice lawsuit against the hospital for how they handled the infant and the treatment the mother received before delivery.
