A Lake Forest father is seeking more than $300,000 in damages after his teenage daughter was killed on a student camping trip last summer. He has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Wilderness Ventures, the company that operated the trip.
According to the Lake Forester, the father claims the company acted negligently and with willful and wanton conduct. The girl was killed when a 75-foot pine tree fell on top of her. She never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Teton County Sheriff’s Office in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where the accident occurred, is treating her death as an accident.
