A Milwaukee couple and a young Thor woman were killed on Neillsville last week when part of the road was washed away by the heavy rain. The rain washed out County Road M, creating a ditch that was 50 feet wide and 12-15 feet deep.
The Milwaukee couple, who were in their mid-50s, were on their way to their cottage in Greenwood when their pickup truck fell into the ditch. They were killed instantly, the Journal Sentinel reports. The third victim, a 24 year-old woman, crashed in the ditch and landed on top of the couple’s vehicle.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is still ongoing. The area received one to three inches of rain that day and four the previous week.
