Ford has issued its third recall in two months of its new 2013 Escapes; this time to fix a leak that could cause the engine to overheat and catch on fire. A faulty plug in the engine could cause coolant to leak and prevent the engine from overheating.
According to the Washington Post, the automaker received one report of the new SUV catching on fire before it decided to issue a recall. An employee at a car dealership was driving the vehicle when the fire occurred. No one was injured.
Earlier this summer, Ford recalled 11,500 Escapes for another leak that could cause a fire, and 10,000 more for a possible brake problem.
