A teenage Fond du Lac County girl was sentenced on Monday to one year in county jail for causing a fatal car accident that killed three of her friends last winter. The 19 year-old was excessively speeding when she lost control and flipped the car several times.
According to the Green Bay Press Gazette, authorities claim she was traveling at 108 mph at the time of the crash. The driver blames peer pressure for traveling at such an excessive speed, a claim the victims’ families vehemently deny.
The teenager, who is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will be, in addition to her jail sentence, under probation for six years. She will not be allowed to visit bars, use drugs, and will be subjected to random drug tests.
