Hollywood actor Paul Walker, most known for his role as undercover agent Brian O’Connor in The Fast and the Furious action movie franchise, starring alongside fellow actor Vin Diesel, died in a car crash in Southern California on Saturday, November 30.

According to Deputy Mark Pope of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the authorities are still in the process of conducting an investigation as to the cause of the accident, but surmised that speed may have been a factor.

The driver of the vehicle that Walker died in, a red 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, was identified as 38-year-old Roger Rodas, a personal friend of the deceased who owned an automotive and racing services firm called Always Evolving, a Los Angeles Times report stated.

40-year-old  Walker would have been a cast member in the seventh installment of The Fast and the Furious, which Universal said was already in the development stage at the time of his death.
