Elderly man survives pedestrian accident

Manitowoc resident, Steven Gove, 56, only sustained minor injuries after he was the victim of a pedestrian accident. The accident occurred on Saturday, January 18 at the intersection of Marshall and South 16th street.

According to police reports Gove was riding his bicycle when a young driver hit him. Gove went through the driver’s windshield and was unnoticed by the driver for the rest of the drive.

At the time of the accident Gove was wearing reflective gear as a precaution. Fortunately he was not seriously hurt from the accident. The 20-year-old driver that hit him has been charged with multiple criminal offenses including driving under the influence.
