A man involved in an accident that killed a student last week was fined $401. According to police reports, the fines were for "towing with improper safey chains" and having "coupling/cables that fail to meet standards." 

The accident involved a trailer that became separated from the man's truck and hit another car. The other car was carrying a University of Wisconsin-Green Bay student, who died of injuries related to the accident.

On Friday afternoon, a semi truck and a car crashed in Winnebago County. Around 1:20pm, the semi tried to merge into the right lane on Highway 10, striking a car and pushing it into the median guardrail.

The driver of the car was taken to St Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton for treatment. He reportedly did not have life threatening injuries. The driver of the semi was not injured.
