When Glenn Haggerty, 36, parked his van at the top of a hill he had no idea that his brake was defective. After he got out of the car to deliver a package, the car slid down the hill killing a man and causing major damange to a house.
The handbrake inside of the van was deemed defective by a vehicle inspector that took a look at the van after the accident. Apparently the sliding of the van’s door was enough to send it down the hill.
The pedestrian killed, Wilfred Rogers, was not found until the rubble of the house hit was cleared several hours after the initial car crash.
