20 construction workers were recently injured in an accident at a casino construction site in Cincinnati. The accident occurred when a metal beam fell, causing a 60-foot by 60-foot area of second-floor flooring to collapse.
Several construction workers were standing on the second-floor area, filling it with concrete. One corner of the flooring dropped, creating a slide that the workers fell down to the first floor. Workers elsewhere at the site witnessed the accident and called 9-1-1.
Some of the workers suffered only minor injuries and received treatment at the construction site. However, at least 14 construction workers were taken to the hospital for treatment of various non-life-threatening injuries. U.S. Occupational Safety and Health investigators are looking into the cause of the construction accident.
