The bodies of five passengers who were on board the Costa Concordia cruise ship were found by divers on Thursday. The discovery has raised the death toll to 30, and two passengers are still unaccounted for.
About 4,200 passengers and crew members were on the Costa Concordia when the ship crashed into rocks and capsized off the coast of Italy. The ship’s captain, Francesco Schettino, was arrested after the crash and charged with manslaughter and abandoning the ship before all passengers and crew members were evacuated.
Schettino has admitted to prosecutors that he caused the wreck after he steered too close to land. He has been under house arrest since January.
