German automobile manufacturer Bayerische Motoren Werke AG or BMW issued a recall of over 134,000 5-Series cars in the United States due to dangers of rear light failure.
The advisory, which was posted on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website, says BMW will take back 528i, 535i, 550i, and M5 cars made in 2008 through 2010.
The company is not worried that the problem will pose a great risk to motorists but decided to go ahead with the recall anyway due to a precedent set by a 2011 recall for a similar problem, according to recall documents.
Although, thankfully, there have been no accidents reported from this mistake, automotive defects have caused traumatizing collisions.
