Testimony for the trial of 26-year-old Merrill, Wisconsin resident Ashley Baumann, who was charged with homicide by intoxicated driving, ended, WAOW.com reported on May 8.
Baumann is facing seven felony charges after the night of drinking and softball in June 2012 that ended in the deaths of her friends, 31-year-old Misty Glisch and 33-year-old Jessica Hartwig. Prosecutors provided DNA analysis of hair from the driver’s side that belonged to Baumann, evidence that she drove the vehicle the women rode in when the accident occurred. The defense, however, argued that the state inspection of the accident scene was inconclusive and did not definitively place Baumann in the driver’s seat.
