National and local initiatives will become stricter in Green Bay when it comes to seatbelt use implementation, according to WFRV on May 18.
Local governments will also intensify this endeavor by placing “Click it or Ticket” and “Buckle Up” placards and signs along major highways and roadways. This move serves as a reminder to drivers and passengers to automatically buckle up every time they are in a vehicle on the road.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, although it has been estimated that at least 85% of motorists in the state comply with seat belt rules, it has been recorded that more than half of the people who died in vehicular accidents in Wisconsin last year were not wearing seat belts at the time of their crash.
If traffic patrol troopers spot you without your seat belt on, they can fine you a minimum $10 ticket.
